OUR HISTORY

In 1952, a small group of performing arts enthusiasts gathered in a local Port Angeles home to discuss forming a group to provide live theatre in our community. Out of these hopes and dreams, the Community Players was born.

Over the next twenty years, The Players performed plays and staged productions in a variety of places within the community - at the Elks Club, The Olympian Theatre, Peninsula College, local schools - wherever enough space could be found and permission was available

By 1971, with the help of dedicated community effort, our Playhouse became a reality. Our present facility represents the improvements dedicated members and contributors have made in the years that followed.

Since our beginning, we have staged more than 250 productions, including musicals, comedies, mysteries and dramas. We are proud of our theatre and the dedicated volunteers who make theatre happen on this stage.
